Jay Stephenson

Jay Stephenson is a Canadian baritone who has been lauded both for his rich vocal timbre and his sincere commitment to the characters he portrays.

Jay Stephenson performs frequently with a number of profession "boutique" opera companies in the Los Angeles area.

He plays many principle roles including; Aeneas, Belcore, Ben, Dandini, Danilo, Don Alfonso, Enrico, Falke, Germont, Gianni Schicchi, Gobineau, Guglielmo, Leoporello, Papageno, Paquiro, Renato, Riccardo, Rigoletto, Schaunard, Silvio, Sulpice, Tonio, Valentin, and Zuniga.

Highlights include the feature film Once Upon a Time - The Rock Opera that won an award for best ensemble cast at the 2016 Kapow Film Festival. Other highlights include creating roles in new works such as George R.R. Martin in Game of Thrones - The Musical, Felix in Olvera Street, Anthony in Marie's Orchard; as well as singing Gernot in Richard Wagner’s rarely performed first opera, Die Feen. In addition, he performed the baritone solo in Carmina Burana by Carl Orff, and Requiem, Op. 9 by Maurice Durufle.
